This 7
day tour takes you on a charming odyssey from
Galway city into the heart of Ireland's Gaeltacht
(Irish speaking) region. The tour allows the
cyclist an opportunity to enjoy the ruggedly
beautiful landscape that is Connemara
and the remote Aran Islands
that lie to the west. The quiet roads, the rugged,
haunting scenery, the charming, friendly people
make this a memorable trip for the adventurous
cyclist.

| The Burren & The Aran Islands |
The
unique, karstic limestone region of Co. Clare,
known as The Burren, is an
ideal area to tour on bicycle. The word "Burren"
means "rocky place" and here you will
see acres of beautiful, though sometimes haunting,
limestone pavements. This striking landscape
comes to life in Spring with beautiful wild
flowers that are unique to this region of Ireland.
This area is dotted with a number of ancient
tombs and stone forts that can be visited en
route. The tour will take you along quiet roads
to remote corners of the Burren and along the
coast where you can enjoy panoramic views
of the Atlantic Ocean and the spectacular Cliffs
of Moher (203m). The tour will also
take you to the remote Aran Islands whose small
fields, surrounded by labyrinths of oddly-shaped
stone walls, are a joy to explore by bicycle.
On Inishmore you can also visit
Dun Aengus, one of
Ireland's most spectacular pre-historic sites.
At night you will be able to relax in region's
many charming towns and villages famous for
their traditional music and warm hospitality.

This
10 day tour takes you on a journey through some
of Ireland's most beautiful countryside. The
tour allows the cyclist an opportunity to enjoy
the ruggedly beautiful landscape that is Connemara,
the remote Aran
Islands and the wonderfully
unusual Burren region. You
will cycle through Connemara with its patchwork
of rusty-brown bogs, purple heathers, pale grey
mountains, dark valleys and small, shimmering
lakes. The next stage of the tour takes you
to the remote Aran Islands
whose quiet lanes and charming landscape make
it a joy to explore. The final stage takes you
back to the mainland where you will experience
the many natural and archaeological wonders
of the Burren region. All routes have been carefully
chosen so you can take in the best the region
has to offer in terms of scenery, history and
culture.
